YORNNA Canada chapter comprises of seasoned nurses with backgrounds in diverse medical specialties and the agility to support public health outcomes at home and abroad.
Our chapter strives to not only meet the needs of our community but also to uphold the Nursing pledge in meeting the health care needs of all people irrespective of their creed and ethnicity.
Modupe Williams-Ajayi
Chairwoman YORNNA Canada
Modupe William-Ajayi’s nursing education span through School of Nursing and Midwifery in Nigeria to University of Ibadan in Nigeria and University of Victoria in Canada. She possesses 40 years of experience that cuts across all facets of nursing from practice to classroom teaching, clinical instruction, and leadership. She has practiced in three different countries and presently practicing in Canada. Her passion is to help others, most importantly the new generation of nurses in her country of birth - Nigeria. She has been a convener of workshops and seminars in training the youth in actualizing their GOD given skills and talent. She is a book and song writer. The tradition of nursing is simply her passion.

About Us
The goals and objectives of the Canada chapter of the Yoruba Nurses of North America are in alignment with the founder's vision and mission:
♦ Use the Yoruba Omoluabi ethos to promote healthcare and welfare in our community.
♦ Engage in humanitarian activities, such as support for those who are trauma-stricken, and other members of our community who may be facing insurmountable life-changes/trials.
♦ Groom nursing students for future roles in the promotion of health in our community.
♦ Promote the advancement of healthcare delivery within the Yoruba community.
♦ Conduct activities and volunteer services to meets the humanitarian goals of the organization.
Projects
♦ Grow chapter membership by conducting outreach to the Yoruba diaspora community across Canada
♦ Identify events and locations in the Canada where chapter members can support community health.
♦ Engage Canadian Africa Diaspora Commission to explore capacity development through sister state partnership with Nigeria
♦ Plan a mission trip to support marginalized communities in the motherland with inadequate access to affordable quality healthcare.
♦ Forge relations with regional hospital networks for capacity development and resource support.
