YORNNA DMV chapter comprises of seasoned nurses with backgrounds in diverse medical specialties and the agility to support public health outcomes at home and abroad.

Our chapter strives to not only meet the needs of our community but also to uphold the Nursing pledge in meeting the health care needs of all people irrespective of their creed and ethnicity.

Dr. Adebisi Allison

Chairwoman YORNNA DMV

Adebisi Allison's passion for nursing started in 2002 when she became a licensed Practical nurse. She furthered her education in Nursing at the Chamberlain university in Illinois Chicago where is completed her Bachelors degree in Nursing, Master's Degree in Nursing science with a specialty in Family practice. In conclusion, Dr. Adebisi Allison earned a doctorate degree in nursing leadership at Chamberlain university in Illinois, Chicago. Dr. Adebisi Allison is the founder and President of BC healthcare Services LLC serving the citizens of Ward 7, 8, the District wide, and Prince George's County. As a Nigerian, I have traveled severally for medical missions to various States in Nigeria. I am also a medical consultant to the largest nursing home facility in Washington DC serving as a primary care provider for over 300 patients. I provide comprehensive healthcare. I manage the patient's overall health by providing preventive care, social support, annual physical and treatment of ill patients. My overall mission is to give back to my heritage by educating them on preventive care measures.


Dr. Gloria Adetokunbo Ojo

Vice-Chairwoman

Dr. Gloria Adetokunbo Ojo is the CEO and Executive Medical Director of Holistic Touch Healthcare Services, LLC in Glen Burnie, Maryland.  She is Nationally and Dually board-certified in Psychiatric/ Mental Health and Family Medicine as an Advance Nurse Practitioner. She is proudly certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland. She is passionate about giving back globally and portrays this noble character by serving & has led at several international medical missions/Health fairs in Nigeria, South Africa and within the USA. In addition, she precepts and mentors aspiring NP and Doctoral students who are ready to impact lives positively. Dr. Gloria Ojo is blessed with a loving family and in her free time, she loves to travel, as well as participate in medical research, serve in medical missions and mentor/precepts aspiring nurses.


Babatunde Alegbeleye, LPN

Secretary

Babatunde Alegbeleye is the Secretary of DMV chapter of YORNNA Northern America. He is a Transformational Catalyst who cares for others, an advocate for justice, inclusion and fairness for all. He is a serial entrepreneur.


Saidat Oluwatuyi, MSN, RN

Assistant Secretary

Mrs. Saidat Oluwatuyi is assistant secretary of the DMV chapter of YORNNA Northern America. She works as a Psychiatric mental health Nurse practitioner.in a mental health clinic in WDC. Her passion for helping people is evident in the many awards she has received for her selfless service, including the "Commit to Care Award" by Chamberlain University alumni. She continues to be dedicated to improving the well-being of people and businesses "one person at a time." She treats everyone with love and compassion. 


Abiola Abass, DNP, RN

Financial Secretary

Dr. Abiola Mumuni-Abass, DNP, PMHNP-BC Financial Secretary of YORNNA DMV CHAPTER OF Northern America. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I have been in the healthcare for over 20 years. Currently work at the veteran’s affairs medical hospital serving the UNITED STATE VETERANS. I have passion for healthcare and enjoy helping others.


Kemi Oyefusi, DNP, RN

Assistant Financial Secretary

Dr. KEMI Oyefusi is the assistant financial secretary of the DMV Chapter YORNNA of Northern America. She works as a Psychiatrist Mental Health Nurse practitioner with enormous experience in the nursing profession. Dr. Oyefusi is known for her compassionate nature in caring for others.


About Us

The goals and objectives of the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) chapter of the Yoruba Nurses of North America are in alignment with the founder's vision and mission:
♦ Use the Yoruba Omoluabi ethos to promote healthcare and welfare in our community.
♦ Engage in humanitarian activities, such as support for those who are trauma-stricken, and other members of our community who may be facing insurmountable life-changes/trials.
♦ Groom nursing students for future roles in the promotion of health in our community.
♦ Promote the advancement of healthcare delivery within the Yoruba community.
♦ Conduct activities and volunteer services to meets the humanitarian goals of the organization.

Projects

♦ Grow chapter membership by conducting outreach to the Yoruba diaspora community across the DMV
♦ Identify events and locations in the DMV where chapter members can support community health.
♦ Engage the Maryland State Africa Diaspora Commission to explore capacity development through sister state partnership with Nigeria
♦ Plan a mission trip to support marginalized communities in the motherland with inadequate access to affordable quality healthcare.
♦ Forge relations with regional hospital networks for capacity development and resource support.
